Downtown Fargo's Iconic Hotel Donaldson Now Up For Sale
FARGO - A historic cornerstone of downtown Fargo is now up for sale. LoopNet, an online marketplace for commercial property, shows the iconic Hotel Donaldson currently listed for $3,980,000.
The 17-suite luxury hotel was voted as the top attraction in Fargo by CNN Travel in 2018. Originally built in 1893, the Hotel Donaldson was one of the first buildings to be constructed following a devastating fire that ripped through a majority of downtown Fargo.
The popular HoDo lounge, located on the main level of the property, closed its doors in August 2020 and has not reopened since. Despite the lounge being closed, the boutique hotel on the upper levels of the property has continued to remain open. According to LoopNet, historic revenues of the hotel is $50,000 per unit, with average daily rates over $200 per night.
Kilbourne Group, which focuses on historic renovations of mixed-use buildings in downtown Fargo, told The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead Thursday that there has been no discussion about acquiring the historic property.
